Vintage, women's mechanical watch Rado “Purple Horse” is a wristwatch produced by Rado in about 1970. Made in Switzerland.
The Rado “Purple Horse” three-hand women's watch is an elegant model with an automatic movement.
It is a hand-wound watch with a gold-plated case and gold-plated bracelet.
Case:
The shape of the case is round.
The bezel (bezel around the glass) is fluted and gold-colored.
The case material is stainless steel with gold plating, which is typical of many Rado models of the time.
The crown is also gold-colored and has a fluted surface for an easy grip. The crown bears the Rado logo.
Dial:
The dial color is silver, with a radial polished finish that creates the effect of diverging rays from the center.
The hour markers are gold-colored, applied rectangular markers with black inserts.
At the 12 o'clock position is the Rado logo - a gold-colored rotating anchor on a purple background, as well as the inscription “RADO” and below “17 JEWELS” indicating the number of stones in the movement.
At 6 o'clock, the Purple Horse model's name is in purple lettering, and an image of two crossed seahorses is in purple, the emblem of the series. Below it is the inscription “SWISS MADE”, indicating the Swiss origin of the watch.
The hands are gold-colored, and the second hand is a thin stick.
The date window is located at the 3 o'clock position, framed by a golden frame, the date numerals are red on a white background.
Bracelet:
The bracelet is metal, Milanese weave (mesh), gold-colored.
The clasp is adjustable.
Movement:
Judging by the inscription "17 Jewels", the watch is equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement (this was common for Purple Horse models).
Good original working condition, with minor scuffs, scratches, and signs of use.
